Naga and Raja both arrived at Aquaworld as unwanted pets.

In fact, Naga's previous owner had to find her a home - or his wife was going to take their baby, leave him and go live with her mother! we like to think we saved both their marriage and the snake!

Blondie has lived at Aquaworld for some years now and is a great favourite with many people who simply cannot believe how young he is.

Garfield the alligator gar

Garfield was our first ever "fish rescue" in the summer of 2009. If we are to believe all that we read, he will possibly reach 3 metres in length and over 150 kilos in weight. He will definitely need a larger aquarium in time...

MR. PRICKLES - The "Boss" Iguana

Mister Prickles the "Boss" iguana

Mr. Prickles was the first of the green iguanas to arrive at Aquaworld in 2001. The others have all been sent to us as unwanted pets - they just grew too big for their previous owners.

Stephania the blind green turtle

Sadly, Stephania was deliberately blinded by people some 10 years ago. She has been cared for at Aquaworld since June, 2000.

On the positive side, she has won the hearts and souls of countless visitors and really acts the part as an ambassador for her kind.

STELIOS - The "Smart" Octopus

Olivia the octopus

The octopus was the original inspiration for Aquaworld as long ago as 1991. One of the smartest creatures in the sea, Stelios and his counterparts amaze and delight with their intelligent responses to problem solving!

Aquaworld only keeps octopuses for a few months in order that they can be returned to their natural element to continue their all too short lives.
